that about sums it up. i’m assuming it’s because my old cable provider was bought by someone, but apparently i have to go and exchange my current set top box for a new one. so until i do, my digital tv service is fuxed.
i’ve also been sick with a damn cold/flu again the past couple of days. seems like everyone at work is either dead or dying. only went in today because we’ve essentially had no staff in my department so far this week. not-a-good-thing.
i’ve just got home and feel like complete crap. i’m attributing quite a bit of that to the -16 degree temps outside. i couldn’t muster up the strength to walk either to or from work today, and just the walk from the subway station is enough to knock me around at the moment. feel all weird and dizzy and my ears are ringing a bit. stupid weather.
i’m not sure i have the words for this at the moment but i wanted to share it in any case, so i’ll let iensu at from minamiasagaya to everywhere say it for me instead.
The song is sad, sad, sad and one of the most beautiful bits of sound I’ve heard in a long, long time. There’s a little bit of Alan Braxe, and lots of Annie’s Hearbeat and Hour Musik’s Your Life Is Beautiful. Then there are the strings from Robyn’s latest album, and right there at the party it sounds like she’s singing like Cyndi Lauper back in 1984.
it’s down the bottom there, in the side blog. it’s swedish, it’s sad, it’s super. you’ll like it. i do.
i came across these today. i wasn’t looking for colour shots specifically, but some of these images are stunning. also found a second gallery which doesn’t state explicitly that they’re autochrome, but i would imagine they’d have to be, given the age.
the autochrome process is celebrating it’s 100th birthday this year, having been patented in 1903, but not properly marketed until 1907. you can read all about it at wikipedia, and check out a few of the links at the bottom of the entry for some more shots.
pretty incredible
the daily shooter looks to have well and truly bitten the dust, and so cops the cull from my list of links to be replaced by the radiant vista. great set of photography critiques, tutorials and workbenches. been a really valuable resource for me lately.
